You need to know the differences between different types of fish so that you will know which one you should get. One difference between a salmon and a sea trout is that the salmon will have a different shape. The tail is going to be more concave and the tail, in general, is also going to be slimmer. The upper jaw of the salmon will only reach up to the rear of the eye. This is different from the sea trout which will have more spots below the lateral line. Another thing that you have to consider is the number of scales available. Between the two, the sea trout is going to have more scales as compared to the salmon.

At first glance, you may think that sea trout and salmon look the same but there are some differences that will let you know which one you are looking at. A salmon comes with a pointed head. The body of the salmon is also going to be slender.

The mouth of the salmon is also going to be smaller as compared to the sea trout. The tail of the sea trout is also going to be broader. Another main difference with regards to the tail is that the tail of the salmon is not going to be as slippery as compared to the tail of the sea trout.
