Both the Pastor and Reverend may influence the church. Together as leaders, they may act as teachers. Either one or both may give the Sunday sermons and assist children, as well as adults, in studying and understanding the bible. A Pastor is a minister or priest who oversees the whole church. He may also be providing spiritual guidance to their congregation.

On the other hand, Reverend applies to a title or a primary counselor for everyone who is a member of the church. A pastor has more of a leadership role in the church. He has to be the personification of how a child of God is supposed to be. Being a Pastor is also considered a function or an occupation, while revered is an honorable title.
