The main difference between the two begins with each specific term, where you log in to record your presence as a returning user officially. On the other hand, sign in implies that you need to put in your information or register your intent to be present in the system. Login means to validate the user. It means that the user is identified so they can work within the website or program. Log in works in both web portals and web applications.

Log in means to open a session with an already created account. All programs require different types of information. However, the universal rule is that you use to sign up for the process of first-time information. Sign up is an activity used to register yourself with a new account. It cultivates conversation with the web site.
