The central difference between nerve and neuron is that the nerve is a cluster of axons wrapped in connective tissue, while the neuron is a cell that behaves as the primary operating unit of the nervous system. Nerves can only be located in the central nervous system. A neuron, on the other hand, is an individual cell of the nervous system, and it only has one axon. It may be branching out in different directions. Nerves are grouped according to their specific location. There are three basic kinds of nerves: afferent nerves, efferent nerves, and mixed nerves, and there are three types of neurons: sensory neurons, motor neurons, and interneurons. There are three layers of nerves, including the endoneurium, perineurium, and epineurium. Also, there are three parts of neurons, including the soma, dendrites, and axon.
