Ozone is a molecule that is comprised of three oxygen atoms. It is a light blue gas, soluble in water, and solvents that are non-polar, like fluorocarbons or carbon tetrachloride. Ozone can be detected in the air in small amounts. It has an odor, which has been described as being similar to the odor of bleach. When you are exposed to a high volume of ozone, it may produce burning eyes, headaches, and respiratory passage irritation. Ozone acts as a filter against harmful UV rays of the Sun. Greenhouse gases are in the earth’s atmosphere that can be absorbed to omit radiation. The greenhouse effect is a threat to the sanctity of the planet. Greenhouse gases have a significant impact on temperature. They also trap heat within the surface, which causes the earth to become heated. These gases cause the melting of polar ice caps, and it could raise seawater to alarming levels. This process is how tsunamis and flooding of cities occur.
