The significant difference between lupus and fibromyalgia is that lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that can cause damage to the internal organs, joints, and skin. On the other and, fibromyalgia is a neurosensory disorder that can cause the body to ache with pain. The most commonplace symptoms of lupus include fatigue, joint pain, and swelling, and rashes, especially on the hands and face. Some environmental and hereditary factors may trigger the condition.

The symptoms of fibromyalgia include fatigue, disturbed sleep, soft tissue pain, muscular stiffness, headaches, and problems with memory and concentration. This ailment is said to be instigated by imbalanced chemicals in the brain. It can also be triggered by physical or emotional stress. Both diseases are more prevalent among women than men.
