YTM is also known as Yield to Maturity. Current yield is another term that is known to be related to bonds in general. From the names of these two types of yield, you can already come up with an idea regarding how different they are. The YTM is known to be the yield on the type of bond while you are waiting for the bond to mature.
The current yield is known to be the type of bond that you can get at the present time. The current yield refers to the type of yield that the investor is going to get. It will also not provide insights into the possible reinvestment risks that are available.
