Wolf and jackal are two popular dogs that are wild. The jackals are small to medium-sized species; there are about four species of jackals, which include the black-backed, golden, simian, and the side-striped jackals. Jackals are found in some parts of the world, which is in Africa, Asia, and southeast Europe. They are good runners that can maintain a speed of 16km/h. The social structure of jackals consists of monogamous pairs. Jackals are crepuscular.

Wolfs are considered to be the largest wild member of the canine family, based on genetic drift; they are the closest relative to domestic dogs; wolves can easily be interbred with domestic dogs. The social structure of wolfs are always in pairs; the species of wolf include the gray wolf, red, Himalayan, Indian, eastern, and Ethiopian. Wolves can hunt at any time of the day.

Jackals and wolves are known to be part of the canine species, but aside from that, they have a lot of differences that people should know about so that they will be properly differentiated. Jackals will have a tendency to work alone, especially when they are hunting. If in case they truly need to be with another jackal, they will probably work in pairs.

This is very much different from how wolves work. Wolves usually need to work together as a group. In fact, they usually follow a structure, especially when they are traveling together so that the weaker wolves will be protected from harm. They are also far bigger as compared to jackals.

Jackals are known to be a part of the canine family. They are medium-sized. Wolves are also part of the canine family, but they are not considered to be small. In fact, they are one of the largest species in the canine family. There are some wolves that may have the ability to interbreed with some domestic dogs, which are why there are some dog breeds now that may somewhat resemble wolves such as the Siberian Husky.

Trying to breed a jackal with a dog can be harder though even if their size can be considered to be closer. It will be hard to accomplish a half jackal and half dog breed. A jackal is usually a loner while the wolf would need to be within a pack, especially when hunting.
