There are a lot of people who assume that Trojan and viruses are the same, but actually, they are not. Trojan are actually files that try to appear like they are good for your device. For example, a Trojan would try to imitate an app that is supposed to clean the excess files from your phone or laptop. When you download it, the Trojan will suddenly take over your system.
A virus can also take over your phone or your laptop because it will have the ability to replicate itself. Some strong viruses can wipe out all of the details that you have saved on your device in a matter of minutes. Some will even make your gadget automatically shut down.
Virus refers to any software that is unwanted that gains entrance into the computer without the user knowing. A Trojan is simply explained as a code that is malicious but is camouflaged as a safe program, most likely as a game, which is a way of enticing users to execute those malicious codes. Trojans do not in themselves have the mechanisms and means needed to propagate or reproduce them; therefore, they rely on users to execute the codes.
Virus and Trojans can easily be differentiated by the way in which they are replicated. The virus uses a host file which can be executed, anytime the infected file is opened or run the virus runs its own code and infect some other files. A trojan is not effective, except a user transfers them to storage space. Virus coding difficult as the mechanism for virus attachment to another file without rendering the file unusable must be programmed.
