AHB is known to be Advanced High-Performance Bus, while AXI means Advanced eXtensible Surface. These two are known to be bus masters. When you use AHB, this means that the bus masters will be connected to one single-channel shared bus. When you say AXI, this means that this will be connected to a multi-channel bus.

Take note that when you use AXI, you need to read/write the optimized bus. The bus latencies that will be experienced in AHB will always start lower as compared to using the bus latencies in AXI. Take note that there are also different features that are available for each, so you just need to decide which one you should pick.
