K-pop and BTS are not the same. They are different in many ways. K-pop only refers to a kind of music in Korea country. That implies that the "K" in K-pop stands for Korea, South Korea precisely. K-pop has to do with the entire nation, and several bodies or groups can be recognized with K-pop. On the other hand, BTS, which has quite several meanings, is a group of 7 boys sponsored by the Big Hit Entertainment that make the K-pop music. BTS stands for Bulletproof Boy scouts in the Korean language and locally means BangTan SoNyeonDan.

The BTS can stop functioning anytime, but K-pop still remains after them. BTS just happens to be the most successful K-pop group in history.
