Mental health simply means the absence of mental problems that can affect or disrupt the normal functioning of the brain. It has to do with one's emotional, behavioral, and cognitive well-being. It also has to do with how you feel, behave, and the ability to think and react to things around us in a manner that reveals the rightness of one's state of mind. Mental health will affect the way and the level of relationship we have with other people, and our physical health is also dependent on mental health.

Mental health can also be defined as a state of health in which you are able to cope with the problems or stresses of life and being able to identify your potentials towards living fruitfully and being able to contribute to your society positively. Mental health can also affect your choice of things and how you make them. Mental health is needed at all developmental stages of life.
