Hanukkah is also known as “Festival of lights.” The entire festival revolves around this name. A special Menorah, which is an eight branched lampstand, is lighted. The Menorah has a ninth prong in the middle. This is known as “Shamash,” which means helper. It is used to light other branches. On each night of the festival, one candle is added to the Menorah.
