Ethernet is a set of network cables and network protocols that allow the interconnection of multiple devices for the purpose of transferring information across the devices. Ethernet only has the ability to carry only data and cannot carry voice information.

Ethernet has a faster speed of data transmission. Ethernet often starts at 2 MB per second. It is also important to note that Ethernet can span over a long distance with the use of T1. T1, on the other hand, is a telecommunication technology that allows the transfer of information across long distances.

T1 is widely used by many. Unlike Ethernet, T1 can carry both data and voice information. T1 has a much slower speed of data transmission. Typically, T1 has a speed of 1.5 MB per second.

Ethernet is a networking technology used to interconnect multiple digital devices such as computers in order to enable the transfer of information across them. T1 is a telecommunications technology used to carry information across long distances. T1 can transmit both voice and data information; however, ethernet is only capable of carrying data information.

Ethernet has quite a restricted range, and T1 is often used by companies to expand their ethernet far beyond its scope. T1 range is diminished speed. Ethernets now possess rates that range from 100Mbps to over 10Gbps. T1 is a widely used technology for interconnecting offices and providing a channel of information.

Ethernet and T1 are two terms typically heard together. The principal difference between ethernet and T1 is the place of use. Ethernet is a networking mechanism that is used to interconnect multiple digital devices such as computers to simplify the allocation of data across them. In comparison, T1 is a telecommunications technology that is utilized to carry data across far distances.

T1 can carry both voice and data. It is allowed to pass through ethernets via VOIP technologies. The results accomplished are unusual. T1's range is reduced speed. Ethernets can now have rates that range from 100Mbps to 10Gbps. T1 is exceedingly slower.
