A urinalysis is known to be a type of laboratory test that is usually conducted when the doctor requires it for various purposes. A urinalysis studies the urine sample of the patient to look for different abnormalities that may be connected to various infections and diseases.

A drug test will also require a urine sample, but it will only be tested to see if there are some hints of drugs in their system. There are some people who make it a point only to get a drug test when they are sure that there is no hint of drugs anymore in their system, but there are also times when surprise drug tests are done, especially in schools and offices.
