Columbus Day is known to be a holiday that is being celebrated in order to commemorate Christopher Columbus. This is usually celebrated every second Monday of October. According to reports, October 12 is the day when Christopher Columbus first arrived in America. This holiday has been celebrated since the year 1937 and this is also looked forward to by people every year.

Christopher Columbus sailed through the Atlantic Ocean in other to get a faster route to the Far East, but only found himself in a new world. Up to this day, some countries still celebrate Columbus Day and mark the day as a public holiday. The trips he made with his crew brought about the Colombian exchange, which later results in the transfer of culture, plants, human population, animals, and technologies. Well, diseases were not left behind.
