ADEM stands for Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis while MS stands for Multiple Sclerosis. These are known to be two types of inflammatory conditions that affect the body in different ways. Both conditions attack the myelin, which is the protective cover of the nerve fibers that make up the central nervous system.

The main difference between ADEM and MS is that ADEM can happen suddenly without any warning. They can make people feel confused, and they can also suffer from seizures. People who suffer from ADEM can usually recover within half a year or so. Those who have MS will have the condition for life. The symptoms may come and go, but it may cause people to have permanent disabilities in the long run.
