Majorly, there are seven essential nutrients in which foods are classified. The first one is carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are the foods that serve as the main source of energy for the body. The second one is fats, which are classified into saturated and unsaturated fats. Fats are also a rich source of energy, especially for children. The third is the fiber (roughage), which contains several carbohydrates and are essential for the digestive system. The fourth is the minerals, which are the inorganic substances that are present in the body, helping to build strong bones and transmit nerve impulses.
