It increases intrinsic efficiency.

A: A thicker crystal will have worse intrinsic spatial resolution since the scintillation light will spread out more before detection by the photomultiplier tubes and also there is a greater possibility of multiple scatter events but will have better efficiency in capturing incident radiation. B: A thicker crystal will have worse intrinsic spatial resolution since the scintillation light will spread out more before detection by the photomultiplier tubes and also there is a greater possibility of multiple scatter events but will have better efficiency in capturing incident radiation. C: Correct. D: A thicker crystal will have worse intrinsic spatial resolution since the scintillation light will spread out more before detection by the photomultiplier tubes and also there is a greater possibility of multiple scatter events but will have better efficiency in capturing incident radiation.
