Is raksha bandhan a national holiday?

We all know that there are different types of holidays that are available. There are certain types of holidays wherein this is celebrated by the whole country while there are also some holidays that only some people celebrate. Raksha Bandhan, also known as Rakhi, is very popular in India but this is considered to be an optional holiday.

This means that business goes on as usual for most of the establishments in India. Only those who will choose to take part in the holiday can celebrate. People would still need to do and continue with the tasks that they are set out to do on that day. Take note that this does not happen on the same day every year.
