Air Guard and Air Force are correlated to the air space of the United States. Air Guard is part of the larger Air Force wing. Both the forces have many similarities, but the Air Force has a more significant role to play in the country's security. The Air Force is the first aerial warfare service of the United States. One of the primary purposes of the Air Guard is to serve as a reserve or back up to the Air Force. The Air Force is full time, while the Air Guard is part-time.

Both the Air Guard and the Air Force are part of the military, but the Air Guard is actually part of the Air Force. It is a subcategory of the Air Force. If you are in the Air Force, then this is probably your full-time job whereas if you are in the Air Guard, then it may be your part-time job. When it comes to the Air Guard, the state governor is in charge of it.

When it comes to Air Force, the president is in charge of the Air Force because he is considered to be the commander in chief. Whenever there is a problem within the country like a natural disaster, then the Air Guard is called. If there is something that happens internationally, that is a problem with the country, then the Air Force is called.
