Alfred Adler and Sigmund Freud were both pioneers in the psychiatry and psychology movement. Freud was the founder of psychiatry who brought theories of repression, defense mechanisms, and the unconscious mind into the forefront of society. Adler founded individual psychology, and Freud was an Austrian neurologist. Adler was more of a medical doctor and psychotherapist.

Alfred Adler and Sigmund Freud were both pioneers in the psychiatry and psychology movement. Freud
Adler stresses more on understanding the person as a whole being. On the other hand, Freud focused his expertise and energy on the study of an individual's ego, superego, and id principles. Freud had become best known for being eccentric and unique in his approach to explaining the human psyche, whereas Adler became famous for his concept of inferiority complex, which affects a person's self-esteem and overall mental health.
