Roasting and baking are two methods or ways of cooking food materials. There is no significant difference between the two methods since both require the use of heat to cook food, and as a result, people tend to use both roasting and baking interchangeably. Also, both methods have so many things in common. These methods can be used by putting a food item inside the oven, so that heat can be released on it and after some minutes the food item is ready for consumption.

Both also mean to cook food over a fire without covering. As food items are being cooked through roasting or baking process, the food items are getting dried. However, the difference between the two can be explained in terms of different food items that can be cooked with both methods. Roasting is usually used for cooking food items like meat, and it can be used to prepare any meat. Baking, on the other hand, is used for cooking food items like pies, cake, bread, etc.
