Savoir and Connaitre are two examples of verbs in the French language. When you translate these two verbs to English, it means ''to know''. However, there are some differences between them. These differences actually depend on how they are used in a sentence. Savoir means to something. It means to have particular knowledge about something, concepts, or skills. For example, it means to know how to drive, how to swim, and other things that follow this particular context.

It can also be used to mean that you know how to do something, or when you are explaining some facts about a concept. Connaitre, on the other hand, is also a verb which means 'to know.' It is mostly used when you know a person, or you are familiar with something. Connaitre can be used in this context. For example: do you know John?. When you are familiar with a place, you can use it to show you know everything about the place. For example I know the exact route to the stadium.
