Sudan and South Sudan are two different countries in Africa. Sudan is an African country located in the northeast part of the African continent. Sudan is one of the most largest countries in Africa, in fact, it is not far from the first three most largest countries in Africa in terms total mass area. The total mass area of Sudan is 728,215 square miles. The most commonly spoken language and the official language of Sudan is Arabic.

South Sudan seceded from Sudan in 2011 to become an independent country, and this makes it the youngest country in Africa. The main languages of South Sudan are Arabic and English. And the capital of South Sudan is Juba. In terms of size, Sudan is unarguably larger than South Sudan.
