Two of the most popular software that people choose to use are MS Office and Open Office. Though they somewhat sound the same, they have a bunch of differences. It is unarguable that MS Office is more prevalent among users than the Open Office. For those who are in the budget, they choose to download and use Open Office as it is free.

MS Office, on the other hand, comes with a handful of versions and only offers a free trial then you need to purchase it if you want to continue using it. Since Open Office is free, the source code is public and can be changed by anyone while MS Office is more secured. Thus, users cannot make any customization in it.

Excel is used for people to organize data in a spreadsheet. Powerpoints are often used for presentations because they contain slides. Finally, the outlook is for emails. Open office is a set of programs that include these programs, but the difference between the MS office and open office is that MS office is the original and authentic program whereas open office is another program that is not made by Microsoft but turns into them.
