There are some differences between the two on how they can market their products. Hollister usually focuses on marketing that will help target those who are in high school and a bit older. They offer young and hip clothes that can also appeal to the older market who want to look young.

Abercrombie can market a bit, but they are more focused on an even younger market as compared to Hollister. In terms of size, Hollister is considered to be the bigger sister group. Some even say that it already seems like a division of the famous Abercrombie and Fitch while Abercrombie is a smaller sister group than Hollister.

When you say Abercrombie, you will probably associate it with another brand called Hollister. It can make you wonder if they have some differences. There are a lot of people who dream of having Abercrombie and Fitch, and this brand has decided to form two subsidiaries, namely Abercrombie and Hollister. Hollister would seem like a division of Abercrombie and Fitch, and it offers clothes that will appeal to the younger group.

A lot of teens would love to have clothes from Hollister. Abercrombie is set to become more appealing to an even younger market (or at least, their parents) as their target group is young. Those who are around seven years old to 16 will probably like to have an Abercrombie.

The complete range of Abercrombie and Fitch is intended for people up to age 34 with the company targeting young people from ages 22-34. Abercrombie and Fitch are a bit more expensive than Hollister, with its collection aimed at the higher end preppie demographic. When you see the small “a” on a garment inside Abercrombie and Fitch, it is a genuine Abercrombie and Fitch product, but it is meant for little kids.

The focus of the Abercrombie line is young kids. There is also an exclusive range for teenagers, especially between the ages of 14-18. The trendy collection for teens is called Hollister. It has a more laid back summery, beachy vibe, as compared with the original Abercrombie and Fitch clothesline. Abercrombie and Fitch were founded in 1892. Over a century later, in 2000, Hollister was created by the company. Hollister functions more like a division of Abercrombie and Fitch.

When one thinks of clothing brands, there are two that many may name immediately. Those two are Abercrombie and Hollister. While most know the brands and their clothing, many don't know that Hollister is sister store to Abercrombie. They are both subsidiaries to the brand Abercrombie & Fitch. They are owned by the same company and have the same key people in charge.

While Abercrombie has other subsidiaries, Hollister is the biggest one and the most popular. Abercrombie was founded earlier, and it is targeted towards a younger audience. Founded after Abercrombie, Hollister is marked more towards teenagers between the ages of 14 and 18.

Abercrombie and Hollister are two clothing brands that many dreams to have, but due to their higher price points, they may not be able to afford. Abercrombie is the sister store to Hollister because they are both owned by Abercrombie & Fitch.

Though they are owned by the same company and have the same people in charge, the brands do market to different audiences. Abercrombie is marketed towards a younger audience, while Hollister is targeted towards teenagers. Abercrombie is older, for it was founded in 1998, while Hollister was founded in 2000. Both brands have great clothes that make a statement.
