What is the difference between Testing and Quality Assurance?

Testing and Quality assurance are two methods employed by producers or manufacturer of a product to determine the quality of the product. Although both are used for the same reason, you can still notice some differences in how these two methods are used. Testing is a method used to determine the quality of a product. This is done by detecting defects in a product and also making an evaluation of the developed product. Products are tested to determine whether all processes that were employed in the production of a product are in line with the various objectives set and whether or not the product meets the necessary standards.

Quality assurance, on the other hand, entails a list of processes followed to prevent errors in a product. This type of method is done before testing. It focuses more on the process of development or production to ensure that the product is free from errors. While measurement is based on the result, quality assurance deals with the process.
