Love can be said to be an emotional feeling which is had towards someone. But to love someone is different from being in love. Being in love goes beyond emotional feelings; it has to do with a kind of romantic feeling. For example, you can love anybody around you, but you cannot be in love with just anybody. You can be in love with your spouse.

The 'in love' feeling can also be divided into two aspects; "being in love" and "falling in love." Being in love is by choice, and it takes one's cautious attention. Falling in love seems more like an obsession, whereby one's awareness and logic is narrowed due to the release of certain hormones and neurochemicals into the system when this reality catches one. When it comes to love, you can even say you love an animal or a nonliving thing, but when you say you are in love with someone, it means you have given your heart, and you think passionately about the person.
