Public Relations and Advertising are two different things, although they are used to create a kind of public awareness of something. The seemingly differences between public relations and advertising will be discussed with regard to their respective definition. Public relations can be defined as the process of issuing out information about someone, most times a celebrity, also about a company or an organization in a bid to create a favorable public image for that person, company or organization. People who are highly placed in society or companies seeking general relevance need public relations to keep the public informed about their plans, operations, and products.

Advertising, on the other hand, is a marketing strategy which involves the use of various means of conveying information about a product to the general public. Advertising one's products have been tested over time to be a powerful tool for business growth, especially when there is stiff competition among companies.
