Soft links and hard links are two types of links used in the UNIX operating system. Links in the UNIX operating system are used to create a kind of connection between a file and the data inside the disk. The rings serve more like a reference that points to another folder. However, soft links and hard links are different from each other, although they perform the same function. The weak link is a type of link in UNIX OS which can be used to create a connection between a filename and the actual data.
