If you want a citrus fruit, you may reach out and grab an orange or a tangerine. They may look similar because they are both orange, but they are two different fruits. They do belong to the same family and taste almost the same, but they are different. They also have different characteristics.

The orange is larger than the tangerine. Tangerines will not taste as sweet as the orange. Oranges are also more tart than the tangerine. If you go to peel the orange, you will notice that it is more difficult to peel the outer rind off of the fruit than if you went to peel the rind off of a tangerine. However, they both come in wedges.
