Often, technological devices are updated and upgraded each year or every so often. This is done in order to make them a little bit better. Then the manufacturing company can make more money off of the product because they keep upgrading it. Whenever a company upgrades a product, instead of renaming the entire product, they usually add the next number to it. In this case, the Bluetooth 2.0 was upgraded to the Bluetooth 2.1.

Usually, the next product is even better and has better features. One feature that the Bluetooth 2.1 has that the Bluetooth 2.0 doesn’t have is the EIR. Also, the Bluetooth 2.0 does not have as great of a security feature as the Bluetooth 2.0. The Bluetooth 2.0 uses a lot more power.
