Advertising is a method of transmitting a message, while media is the means by which mass commercial communication is carried out. Radio, television, magazines, and newspapers are examples of media, while ads may contain any of the material used in such mediums.

Advertising is a way of communicating some messages, while media is the medium through which communication to the mass market is carried out. Always in advertising, the action is required from the target audience, but with media, not every communication requests a response. Media includes radio, tv, magazines, and websites, while advertising may consist of some subject matter in the media types.
