Yorkies and Silkies refer to terriers. These are small dogs. However, they both are terriers and have smooth silky hair. One difference is that silky terriers are longer in length or at least they look that way. Yorkies have a square shape to them. The colors of the terrier's coats are different in colors. Silkies are almost silvery in color whereas Yorkies are steel blue.

The length of the coat is that Yorkies have a longer coat that comes down to the floor. Silkies have shorter hair. Yorkies have a lighter colored head compared to the Silkies. Yorkies are lighter in weight than the Silkies. If you want to get your children a dog, the Yorkie is better because they are less aggressive than the Silky.
