That is because whole milk seems to last longer in the refrigerator than skim milk. If you do not use milk a lot, then you may want to get whole milk so that it keeps longer in the fridge. Also, there have been studies done about both skim and whole milk. People who diet should drink whole milk instead of skim milk. It may seem weird that this should happen, but it makes the person feel fuller longer.
