Some of the courses that you will see in college may seem confusing. BS stands for Bachelor of Science while BA stands for Bachelor of the Arts. These are both 4-year undergraduate degrees. The main difference between the two is the subjects that will be focused on during the four years that the students will learn.
For example, two students may both be taking Psychology, but one will take BA while the other one will take BS. The one who will take BA will deal more with social courses such as humanities, social studies, and philosophy. Bachelor of Arts will not really make whoever studying it to have a well-grounded knowledge about a specific area of study, because the undergraduate course is a broader one that focuses on many areas of study.
