Miscarriage and period are two different terms that occur in a female’s reproductive cycle. Miscarriage can be mistaken for a menstrual period because of the bleeding that occurs in but situations. Miscarriage refers to a spontaneous natural termination of a pregnancy, especially before it is viable. It is the fatal expulsion of a fetus from the womb before term. Bleeding may contain fetal tissue and blood clot, which are much larger than normal menstrual bleeding.

Period, on the other hand, is an event of a woman’s discharge of the menstrual flow of blood and cells. The period is also known as the menstrual period, menses or menstruation. It is a regular monthly discharge from the lining of the uterus. The first period is known as menarche, and at menopause, a woman stops having her period.

Miscarriage, sometimes does come early which now brings about the confusion of whether it is the monthly menstrual cycle or miscarriage. You can confirm whether it is period or miscarriage in so many ways. Generally, period is something that doesn't come so easily for women, it comes with a little bit of pain which must be endured till the expiration of the process. Whereas, miscarriage usually comes with a sudden pain, and a severe one at that, the pain won't stop as much as the woman is still bleeding. Period is characterized with the outflow of blood and some material which are brownish red in color. But miscarriage will first start with the outflow of blood and some beanlike materials which first appear brownish and later red with thick blood.
