Some people assume that just because they have a tumor, it is already cancerous. You should remember that a tumor is a type of growth that may grow at different parts of the body usually caused by abnormal cell production. Cancer, on the other hand, is a type of diseases wherein cells that are already about to die become mutilated. They begin to divide uncontrollably so these abnormal cells will multiply.

The benign tumor is cancerous and can be removed depending on what the doctor says. Some tumors may be broken down by medication. Cancerous tumors would need to be removed to minimize the possibility of spreading.
