Cartilage is a tough and flexible tissue which is mostly found in the skeletons of complex vertebrates. It is made up of living cells called chondroblasts. It also contains protein and carbohydrates fibers. Hyaline and elastic are two out of three types of cartilage. Hyaline is different from elastic cartilage in some ways. Hyaline cartilage is the most common type of cartilage in the body.

It makes up the rings that support the bronchi and trachea by keeping them open. It also covers the surface of movable joints and supports the extended part of the nose. Elastic cartilage is another type of cartilage. It is made up of elastic fibers of protein and other substances, and it can be found in the external ear canal. Elastic Cartilage does not really have connecting tissue that can supply blood to it, but it depends on the nutrients of the surrounding tissues.
