The E-Ticket and I-Ticket may not ring a bell for some people but this is definitely something that will be familiar to people who live in India or are researching how they can visit India. The E-ticket is the digital form of the ticket that you have ordered. You may receive it electronically and just show it whenever you need to use it.

The I-Ticket means that the tickets that you have ordered will be delivered to you. Take note that the I-Ticket would need to be processed at least two days before the actual date that you need to use it while the E-ticket can immediately become available to you.

Both E-Ticket and I-Ticket are two ways of booking space whenever you are traveling in India. There are differences between the two methods of collecting tickets in India. The notable difference between them is how you go about collecting the ticket. E-ticket, as the name implies, is an electronic way of ordering tickets. It deals with the printing of an electronic form which you would fill and take it along with you whatever time your traveling date is. While I-ticket uses mail to forward the ticket to the person ordering for ticket.

With I-ticket, you would need to start processing your ticket like two days to the actual date, so that your ticket can be processed and sent to you. Whereas, you don't need to wait for 2 days when opting for E-ticket because you can even print the electronic form on the day you are traveling, but you would need to go with your identity card. The cost for I-ticket is higher than that of E-ticket.
