There are numerous facts about an insect, but just a few of them will be discussed here. Insect belongs to a large group called arthropods. According to searches, the number of insects is believed to be between six to ten million. All insects have their bodies divided into three sections, which include: the head, the thorax, and the abdomen. Insects shed away all their exoskeleton, and this process is called molting. Insects have two antennae and have three pairs of legs. They are cold-blooded animals.

The two ways that insects grow is complete or incomplete metamorphosis. Nearly all insects hatch from eggs. Most of the insects can walk and also flying just a few of them can walk on the surface of the water. Insects usually have a well-organized social colony. Lastly, the lifestyle of an insect include eggs, larva, pupa, and adults.

While there are some people who are highly fascinated with insects and all their characteristics, there are also a lot of people who are scared of insects. There are some facts that may help you appreciate insects more. There are about six to ten million insects that are available right now.

Insects will also have three parts namely the thorax, the abdomen, and finally, the head. There are also a lot of insects that would need their antennae in order to function properly. Some would refer to the antennae as “feelers.” Surprisingly, there are some insects that will have the ability to walk on water. These insects are called “water striders.”
