Both arrogance and confidence talk more about someone's ability to strongly believe in his or ability. Arrogance is the habit of making an undue claim in an overbearing manner, while confidence has to do with a special feeling of certainty. The difference between arrogance and confidence can be easily understood if you have an arrogant person or a confident person very close to you.

Confident people have this special way of viewing certainty in every of their dealings, meaning uncertainty and fear cannot be seen near them. But arrogant people always live with fear and uncertainty, as a result they tend to be overconfident so as to get rid of their fears. Arrogance sometimes is the feeling of superiority over others. Arrogant people always view themselves above others and they usually have this commanding tone and bossy attitude over others, but confident people are always welcoming, they are open to ideas because that is where they get their confidence.

Confidence is confidence in one's own abilities without having to compare it to others, while arrogance is often arrogance and looking down on others to cover up an inner lack of confidence. mapquest directions
