Why do people say " Happy Memorial Day"?

Happy Memorial Day is what people use to say when they are greeting themselves on Memorial Day. Although, the day is meant for people to honor and celebrate their loved ones who were killed while serving in the military but the freedom people tend to enjoy on that day is the reason as to why many greet themselves by saying Happy Memorial Day.

Memorial Day is observed on the last Monday in May and that makes it three days straight break from work for Americans. Most people enjoy the period because they will get a break from work and have a good time to enjoy with their friends. However, many people still think the idea of saying Happy Memorial Day on Memorial Day is not good enough because the day is meant for people to reflect on the selfless services of those people who died while serving in the military.
