The Memorial Day is only observed and celebrated in the United States because of the importance and significance it holds to them. Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States of America and is used in remembering and honoring fallen soldiers and men of the American Armed Forces who had fought for the country. Memorial is also known as Decoration Day.

Memorial Day is usually observed by Americans on the last Monday in the month of May. Although in the past, Memorial Day is observed on May 30. One interesting thing about the Memorial Day is that, it marks the beginning of the summer vacation season in the United States. This does not mean other countries of the world do not have this kind of practice to remember and honor their fallen soldiers. But the term Memorial Day is only peculiar to the United States and it comes with a lot of activities.
