Geographically, Mumbai is made up of seven major islands which were once under the rule of the Portuguese before its capture by the East India Company. Mumbai is the economic capital of India, and it is the most crowded city in the country. Before the 18th century, there was no city and just seven islands full of villages in the area. When the British built a port near the harbor in the 18th century, the infrastructure improved impeccably, and it led to a rise in population in the surrounding area. It became so large it would eventually overwhelm all villages.

Mumbai is known to be a type of city that you can see in India. Mumbai and Bombay actually refer to the same place. There are a lot of people who wanted the name to be changed even before 1995, the year when the name of the place was changed.

One of the reasons why people want to change the name of the city immediately is because they are reminded of the time when they were under the British regime. There were a lot of people in India who believe that they have suffered that time. They want the name of the city to reach new heights and for the city to have a completely new identity.

Mumbai is currently a city in India. Bombay is what the city used to be called. The name changd in 1995 but it was pushed for many years prior to that. Under Shiv Sena's Hindu nationalist party, they pushed for the name change. They believed Bombay was a reflection of a correction English version of Mumbai.
