Who is playing the main character in Days Gone?

The main character in Days Gone is called Deacon St. John. He resembles the actor, Sam Witwer. However, the character is a veteran of the Afghanistan War. This seems appropriate because the premise of the game is to survive on land. A war veteran would be equipped with the knowledge and skill to kill the zombies that walk on the earth and attack the survivors that are still left on earth.

Deacon St. John is now a drifter and an outlaw, so to speak. He used to be with the Army 10th Mountain Division. Most of the people on earth are now these creature-like zombies that attack the few survivors that are still on earth. Deacon St. John is trying to kill them.
