What is microblogging?

Microblogging is a type of blogging that actually means what it says. It is a blog that is small in size. Everything about it is quite small. The traditional and normal blogs are relatively big in size compared to microblogging. The topics related to the microblogging are quite the same, but they may be on a topic where only a little bit is written about it. Otherwise, it would turn in to a regular blog.

Microblogging still allows other types of communication as well as instant messaging, email and text messaging. Microblogging didn’t take place until after blogging became popular. It began in 2005. One type of microblogging is Twitter where you can only include a certain amount of words.
