Europe is the sixth largest continent in the world. The continent is made up of 44 sovereign states including some territories and dependencies. There are so many unique things about the continent. Just as there are larger countries in Europe, there are also smaller countries with small populations. Russia is widely known as the largest country in Europe.

And countries like Cyprus, Andorra, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Malta, Monaco, San Marino are considered to be very small in terms of their populations and total area covered, while Vatican City is the smallest country in Europe and not only that, it is the smallest country in the world with population of approximately one thousand people. The total area covered by Vatican City is approximately 0.44 square kilometers. The country is very popular for being the seat of pope. Vatican City has a lot of ancient architectural designs and artworks.
