How many students go for higher studies in Germany?

Germany is very supportive of higher education. Back in the 60s, higher education only attracted about 8-10 percent of the college age kids in Germany but that has all changed. Today, over 30 percent go to college which has posed some overcrowding issues and has made for the need for some limitations to be placed on German college and university entrance.

Such is true particularly in popular fields like as medicine and dentistry. A good number of international students go to Germany to study too because it is known to be very well qualified for higher education and their is a status about studying in Germany that is coveted.
